Scarlett arrived at the rescue where I was volunteering, and I was immediately struck by her emaciated appearance. Every bone in her body was visible, and it seemed as though she didn't even have teeth. Despite her physical condition, Scarlett's behavior was challenging. Determined to show her the love she had never experienced and make her adoptable, I made it my mission to care for her. As time passed, a deep bond formed between us, and I found myself falling head over heels in love with her.

Each time a potential adopter came to see Scarlett, I couldn't help but shed tears at the thought of parting with her. I made a promise to her every day that once I had my own farm, I would bring her home with me. It was during this time that the idea of starting a sanctuary began to take shape in my mind - I simply couldn't bear the thought of giving her up.
